Annual Meeting for the Celebrate Aurora Committee.
Time & location will be determined at a later date.
The Celebrate Aurora Committee has unanimously decided to cancel the annual 3rd of July Celebration in downtown Aurora for the safety and health of our citizens. This decision was made in lieu of the Governor’s decree and the many discussions held with local leaders on the Iron Range.
Currently, Minnesota has entered Phase III of the “Minnesota Stay Safe Plan”, discouraging festivals from occurring under the current circumstances. For further details pertaining to the Governor’s plans, please review the provided link below.
Our organization will cancel all downtown events but will still host the annual 3rd of July firework show on Red Top at 10pm. This year’s display will be of EPIC proportions and our committee will advertise ideal locations within the community to take advantage of the spectacular view! Please review the link provided below for current safety guidelines for vehicle gatherings, such as firework viewing.
The committee members will be hosting a motor-vehicle tour the town parade in place of the traditional “Patriotic Day’s Parade” on July 3rd at 6pm. We encourage all community members to view the parade from their property, while maintaining the appropriate social distancing protocols. Come view the local police depart, fire department, grand marshal, mayor and MANY guests during the 2020 celebration! Residents are encouraged to decorate their own yards red, white, and blue to show unity and solidarity during this difficult time! Committee members will post the festive yards on their Facebook we bpage following the event!
Keeping with tradition, the Celebrate Aurora Committee has created the 2020 commemorative button created by Bryleigh Baker! These buttons will be available in limited quantities at the following locations: The Hive, Bradach Lumber, Northern State Bank-Aurora Branch, Embarrass Vermillion FCU- Aurora Branch, Hoyt Lakes Community Credit Union, Mesaba Drug, Hoyt Lakes IGA, and the First National Bank of Gilbert-Hoyt Lakes Branch. The Celebrate Aurora committee will be accepting free will donations for the buttons by the PayPal link on our webpage or by mail at P.O. Box 294 Aurora, MN 55705.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding of the cancellation of the 3rd of July celebration.
